Dangerous in Transit Page 14
“Lie back,” he said against her mouth.
“I don’t get to touch, too?”
“No. I’m not exactly prepared—”
“You mean condoms?”
Felix blinked at her once.
She licked her lips and fought the urge to squirm. They didn’t necessarily need one. Her implant protected against pregnancy, but she didn’t want to stop and have a whole conversation about diseases and stuff.
“They’re in the nightstand,” she said.
“I don’t want to know.” He closed his eyes and shook his head.
She chuckled and looped her arms around his neck, pulling him down for a kiss. Should she tell him it was Val and not one of the guys? When it came to sex and men, Jackie and her best friend knew each other’s type. It wasn’t the first time one of them had chunked a handful of condoms at the other and found somewhere else to be.
The kiss turned softer, deeper. His head tilted to one side, and she parted her lips, eager for more.
His finger slid inside her and she gasped, her body constricting around him. She flexed her hips, urging him deeper.
Felix leaned into her, forcing her onto her back. She stretched, the hedonist inside of her greedy for more of how he made her feel.
“You sure?” he asked.
“That I want to have sex with you? Right now? Yes.” She reached down and wrapped her hands around his wrist.
“Shit.” He dropped his head for a moment before staring intently at her pussy.
She turned his hand inside of her, showing him how to stroke her. The perfect angle to thrust, and slide along her clit. There wasn’t an aspect of sex she didn’t enjoy. Fingers, hands, cock, mouth—they were all instruments of pleasure.
Felix pulled out of her grasp. She almost groaned at the loss of him, but he wasn’t done yet. He slid his hands under her knees and bent forward to press a kiss on her hip. She grinned at the gentle gesture and relaxed, content to let this man do what he wanted to her.
He bit her inner thigh, not too hard, but enough to sting.
“Felix!” She gasped and jolted at the feel of teeth. It wasn’t a hard pinch, but it made her insides quiver and squirm in a way that wasn’t all bad.
“Just making sure you’re still here.” His wide grin was all too pleased with himself.
Jackie reached for him, ready to feel the press of his body, the way he moved inside of her. Foreplay was great, but she wanted him.
Felix grabbed her hands before she got a hold on him, lacing their fingers together. He peered up at her through his lashes, opened his mouth and kissed her mound. She sucked down a breath, her stomach tightening. His mouth slid lower, his tongue delving between her folds for a more intimate taste. She groaned and curled her toes on nothing, holding tight to his hands.
“Oh—oh my...”
The kiss turned into thrusting, his tongue stroking into her while his upper lip pressed against her clit. It was an altogether new sensation, one she’d never felt before. Different, not quite filling, but talented.
He pulled on her hands, deepening the penetration, tongue fucking her. She held tight and curled her calves against his side, the better for leverage.
There.
He got just the right amount of pressure on her clit and little bursts of light filled her vision. She opened her mouth to tell him to keep going, but never got the words out. Her internal muscles spasmed, the orgasm rippling through her as Felix kept going, like this was his favorite pastime.
The flood of endorphins had barely begun to die down when Felix eased their bodies apart. She managed to turn her head and watch him walk the few steps around the bed. There was no missing the considerable bulge in his pants. Despite the warm, sated feeling of post-orgasmic bliss, she was already looking forward to round two.
The sound of the condom packet ripping over caused a shiver of anticipation. She wasn’t used to feeling like a man was worshiping her in bed, but it was a thing she could get used to.
Instead of rolling the condom on and staying fully clothed, he tossed the condom onto the bed and toed out of his boots. His shirt was off before he got both feet free. He was economical and quick about the motions. She enjoyed watching him, admiring the body he’d honed for a purpose. Her mouth dried up when he hooked his fingers in the waistband of his shorts and pushed down, revealing the bit of skin she hadn’t seen last night.
“Can I help you?” he asked, one brow arched.
“I think you’re going to.” She grinned, not the least bit embarrassed to have been caught staring.
“Am I?”
“Are you?” She reached toward him.
Felix grinned and snagged the condom from where it had landed on the bed. He rolled it on and gave his dick a squeeze. There was something freeing about a partner who smiled, who didn’t hesitate to pursue the other person’s pleasure first. Felix wouldn’t take, he’d give as well, and that made this—the choice to be with him—easier.
He took her hand and returned to his spot at the foot of the bed, standing over her. She tugged, and he leaned over her. She grabbed the tail of his braid and pulled him the rest of the way down until she could kiss his mouth. She groped blindly for his cock, her knuckles running against his length first. He thrust his tongue past her lips and she squeezed him, eager for more of him inside of her.
“Do you ever second guess yourself?” he asked. His breath caressed her cheek, his lips moving across her skin.
“Second guesses just waste time. At least that’s what I try to tell myself. Under normal circumstances. Can we stop talking?”
“As you wish.”
Felix pushed her hand aside, guiding his cock toward her. She perched her feet on the edge of the bed and let her knees drift open, making room for him to stand over her. This time he didn’t go slow. The head of his cock kissed her skin, and then he thrust, joining their bodies. She fisted the blanket and sucked in a breath, her spine arching off the bed. Something about the angle, the way his cock put just a bit of pressure on her mound, it was perfect.
He grasped her by the knees, pulling her down the bed and thrusting deeper at the same time. She tilted her head back, gasping for breath. Maybe it was because she was sensitive from orgasm, or maybe it was just Felix, but the need for another release, to come again, spurred her on.
She reached for him, grabbing his wrists as he eased in and out of her, still finding his rhythm. He twisted his arms, grasping her by the hands and lacing their fingers together. Their gazes locked and the rest of the world fell away. The muscles in his arms and abdomen tensed. He thrust and her whole body shuddered.
The bed knocked against the wall, soft thumps that punctuated every time their bodies joined.
Felix pulled harder, seating himself deeper still.
Jackie tossed her head back, staring at a ceiling she couldn’t see. She gasped for breath, mumbling words that were more sound than intelligent speech.
Felix chuckled, likely proud of himself, and moved. He had every right to feel smug after this. He drove into her harder, with enough force she felt it ripple through her body, even to her nipples.
“Oh—God. Felix. Felix?”
He didn’t give her a moment to speak her warning.
She opened her mouth, and he leaned over her, covering her lips with his hand. She held onto his wrist, groaning her release into his palm, the first tremors of orgasm robbing her of the ability to think. He thrust, again and again, the orgasm stretching on. And on. His sweat slicked her skin and eventually the only thing she could do was hold tight to him as the rest of her body turned to goo.
Felix pitched forward, his warmth and weight welcome after being ridden raw. She hugged him to her, burying her face in the crook of his shoulder, and breathed deep the smell of his shampoo.
She wrapped her exhausted limbs around him, cradling him close. She’d had an idea that things between them would be good, but she wasn’t prepared for that. When this was over and they were home, she wa
s going to kidnap him in return. For a whole week, and do nothing but have sex, eat and sleep.
Jackie kissed his cheek. He turned his head, finding her lips with his in a warm, gentle kiss.
“For the record, that was amazing,” she said.
“You’re dangerous for my ego.” He stroked his hand down to her hip and gave it a squeeze.
“Your ego deserves to be big.”
He chuckled and ducked his head.
“Do you have a shift or anything tonight?” she slid her hands up and down his back, luxuriating in the simple feel of his body.
“No.”
“Sleep with me?” she asked.
“Will you actually sleep?” He tilted his head away from her, peering at her with one eye.
“After that?” She grinned. “Yes.”
He seemed to consider it for a moment, then pushed up.
“Okay,” he said.
She wouldn’t promise not to maul him in his sleep though.
Felix eased their bodies apart, his face creasing in a mix of pleasure and pain. He straightened then offered her a hand.
“Do you want the bathroom first?” he asked.
“Go ahead.” Her body was worn out.
He bent and kissed her forehead, then snagged his shorts. He was gone before she could muster the energy to move.
Jackie snagged his white t-shirt from where it had fallen partially on the bed. It was a typical girl thing to do, but she didn’t care. She pulled the shirt on, but didn’t trust herself to bend over and get the rest of her clothes without falling. Now that the orgasm bliss was subsiding, she was quickly falling into a stupor.
She shambled out into the hall.
The suite beyond was dark, evidence that most everyone else was asleep. Including Val.
Shit.
Jackie tip toed to the main area and peered around the corner.
Val’s soft snores were the only sounds she heard.
They’d been friends for long enough that Jackie knew not to disturb Val when the snoring began. She hardly ever reached that deep level of passed out.
Felix opened the hall door, the bathroom light shining out.
She waved him back into the room and ducked into the bathroom. A quick wash up and brush of her teeth, then she, too returned to the bedroom, pleased to see the Felix had already assumed his place on the right side of the bed.
Jackie turned the lights off and crawled in next to him. There was nothing like sleeping in the arms of a man, and Felix was a generous bedfellow, both with his talents and scooping her up to lie next to him.
She pillowed her head on his shoulder and breathed a sigh of contentment.
“The responsible thing to do would have been to talk before sex.” His words were slurred, his tone tired.
“You mean the, do you have anything going on I should know about, sex talk?” She chuckled, glad to know she wasn’t the only one affected.
“Yeah. That one.”
“For the record, I had to have blood work done after our last trip six weeks ago. My last...I don’t want to call him boyfriend. Whatever we were, was eight months ago? And I have an implant.” She jabbed him in the side. “You?”
“I’m good. All that, too.”
“You had a terrible boyfriend eight months ago and a birth control implant?”
“What?” Felix frowned at her and cracked one eye open. “No. I mean, regular blood tests for work.”
“I figured. See? Now our bases are covered.”
“Boobs? Did you say boobs?” He lifted his arm to cover her chest.
Jackie chuckled and wiggled closer. To think, she’d gone through hell to find an angel.
11.
Sunday. Hôtel Tfeila Nouakchott, Mauritania.
Felix opened his eyes. Part of his brain was still asleep, but something had brought him out of a deep sleep. He sat up and blinked. Light flooded the room from two sides. The thin curtains didn’t do anything for blocking out the post-dawn sun.
A person stood at the foot of the bed. His brain registered them as nonthreatening, but out of place.
“Val, go away.” Jackie groaned and tugged at the blankets up over her head.
He glanced at the woman next to him and the woman at the foot of the bed.
Fuck, he must have been sleeping hard.
Val doubled over laughing, at what, he didn’t know.
“You’re a terrible person, Val,” Jackie yelled from under the linens.
“As amusing as this is, your guys are looking for you?” Val grinned and thumbed over her shoulder.
Oh, damn. “Why? What’s going on?” He shifted and his bare ass slid across the sheets.
“I don’t know.” Val shrugged and took a step backward. “He answered the room phone then started calling out names. I figured something was about to happen and I hadn’t seen Jackie alive yet. You coming?”
“In a minute.” Felix kept a grip on the sheets.
Val’s grin widened, and she backed out of the door, closing it behind her. He had a feeling she was enjoying this far more than was necessary.
“Is she gone?” Jackie peered out over the sheets.
“Yeah. Go back to sleep.” Felix had never slept that heavily while on a job. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and stepped on his shorts. Well, there was one thing he didn’t have to go looking for. He pulled them on and stood all in one go.
Jackie sat up, her arms stretching toward the ceiling. She had his white shirt on, the one he wore with the shorts he had on now.
“I need that, if you don’t mind?” If Kyle was yelling names, something must have happened.
“Oh.” Jackie glanced down at herself. Another time he’d admire the view. The thin shirt didn’t hide anything. “Right. Sorry.”
She pulled it off and tossed it at him.
“Your clothes are over here.” He pulled his shirt on and nodded at the pile. He remembered making that.
“Thanks.” She slid out of bed, one arm across her breasts. “What’s going on?”
“No idea.” He cocked his head, listening for voices, but couldn’t hear them. “You okay? Need anything? Want anything?”
She paused stepping into her panties and pats to frown at him.
“No. Go. I’ll be right behind you.” She pulled the clothes up, gifting him with probably his favorite view so far. He hadn’t spent nearly enough time with her breasts last night. “I’d say take a picture, but don’t. Go.”
“I’m going. I’m going.”
Felix ducked out of the room and into the hall. He had a straight view into the next suite, and the line of men entering it in black tactical gear. He paused, barefoot and without a weapon on him, but no one glanced his way.
“Duke!” Kyle called out, the rest of his sentence lost in the low hum of voices.
Friendlies.
It was about time they caught a break.
Felix padded forward, conscious of how being out of his greens and coming from the asset quarters looked. Well, it was the truth, and they were all adults. Isaac never apologized for sleeping with a VIP, so why did Felix feel like he’d been caught doing something he shouldn’t?
He ducked into the suite packed with people. Kyle and a dark-skinned man were in the middle of it all, giving orders and pointing people in different directions.
Someone jabbed an elbow in Felix’s ribs.
He glanced at Isaac that stupid grin on his face.
“Thanks for joining us, Val-holla.”
“Fuck you.” The reply was more automatic than anything else.
“I’d say you fucked someone else last night.”
Felix headed for his room before he punched Isaac. This wasn’t a notch in a bedpost or a trophy to brag about. This was Jackie’s life, and Felix was part of it now. He’d known after meeting her, after seeing what made her tick, that he liked her. Things were just happening faster than he’d intended.
He stepped into the room he was supposed to share with Adam.
The other man nodded by way of a greeting while putting on his vest and tactical gear.
“We moving out?” Felix asked. He grabbed his last pair of greens. Supposedly the hotel laundry service would have the other two pair back to them today, but he wouldn’t hold his breath.
“Hope so,” Adam replied.
“Everyone up?” Felix shed his shorts and shirt, then began pulling on his company issue clothing.
“They are now. Figured we’d let you and Jackie sleep as long as possible.”
Felix stared. Was it his imagination, or was Adam smiling at him?
He ducked out of the room while Felix was still too shocked for words. Adam did something besides sit and stare. Who knew?
Felix finished dressing, shoved his feet in his boots and pulled his vest on to be safe. Just about ready for anything. He ducked out of the room. It had thinned out somewhat, most of the newcomers spreading out into the other room.
Kyle, the rest of their team, Jackie and Val, plus two black men stood at the two dining tables they’d pushed together from the suites to make a command center. Felix approached the group and peered at the creased, old map spread out on the surface.
“Our men are still here, with the sick.” The bigger of the two newcomers leaned forward and tapped an X on the outer part of the map. He put his finger on a spot roughly six inches away. “We got as close as here before we had to abandon the idea of getting to them.”
“Why?” Jackie’s face creased, the lines of worry back.
“The military is pulling back to the city center. They don’t have enough manpower to fight the PPM forces on all fronts.”
“What? How is that possible?” Jackie glanced at the rest of them.
“Duke, are we sure there aren’t more forces headed this way?” Kyle asked.
“No.” Duke stared at Kyle, his face grim. “They’re abandoning the city.”
“Because General Taleb is pulling them back,” Jackie said.
“What?” Duke frowned.
“We might have a little intel.” Kyle blew out a breath. “Felix?”
